// OOH BRAND CAMPAIGN
My words. Penn Station Spectacular. In the heart of New York City.
When I was tasked with creating a series of four animated billboards to display on Penn Station's billboard in NYC, I was excited. I knew this would mean major brand awareness for Spectrum Reach, plus major awareness for my writing.
The billboards would run for two weeks during some of the largest sales initiatives in the marketing world. Our target was big brands, so we needed to go big, but in a simple way. The hardest part of writing engaging copy that tells your brand's full story is doing so in a concise way. With an animated billboard, you get eight seconds to get their attention, say what you need to say, and make them remember you.
So, I created a pattern for the copy. We would open with a question, and close with a proof point. Something that would make passersby pay attention and leave them wondering, 'Can Spectrum Reach really do all that for my business?'
Working closely with a team of skilled designers and animators, we brought the brand to life. The words and images danced a delicate dance together on the big screen, forcing people to stop and take a look. I now invite you to do the same.
Nothing says bold like a man dangling from a ladder nine stories above New York City. Copy reads:
Need more reach? 30M households with 17B+ linear and streaming hours, we can deliver reach from hyper-local to national.
No one likes a crushed cookie... Unless it means you're getting first-party data insights instead. Copy reads:
Cookies? It's time to give cookies a break. Tap into first-party data insights from our 30M households instead.
Who doesn't love a good carnival game? Our dancing ducks were eye-catching and told the story of our precise audience targeting. Copy reads:
Need to target audiences with precision? Spectrum Reach hits the bullseye. Reach 30M addressable video and internet households.
What's better than reaching your streaming audience? Reaching the streamiest streamer that ever streamed. Copy reads:
Reach the streamiest streamers that ever streamed, on the Spectrum TV App: #1 most-viewed streaming service in the U.S. for over 33 months.
Through the use of engaging animations and thought-provoking copy that makes you go "huh?", our brand took center stage in the heart of NYC. This was one of the most fun projects I've gotten to work on for Spectrum Reach. A lot was riding on these billboards, but the challenge was half the fun. Plus, Spectrum Reach's Senior Vice President, Michael Guth, loved them.
